Rocky Mountain Adventure

We just returned from a short trip to the Rocky Mountains with our daughter and grandson. Steph is Auntie to 7 year old Logan. We were lucky to escape the triple digit temps at home and relax and enjoy the crisp mountain air. If you are looking for a great family vacation I highly recommend the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park. I wish we would have known about it when our kids were little. We hiked, we swam, went horseback riding along with hikes to learn about reading a compass, animal tracks and poop! Yes- that was a highlight for Logan and Grandpa!

Evening brought several Elk to eat the sweet clover. The Elk must be used to the crowds, they didn't even look up when hundreds of excited campers headed toward them for a picture.

I made a trip into Estes Park to visit a local quilt shop called Cottage Bliss. The shop was filled to the brim with gifts and fabric of all kinds. Next time you are in the area stop in!
